Coral Way is the shared name of a historic boulevard running from central Miami toward Coral Gables and of the neighborhood that grew around it. The mature banyan trees planted on both sides close over the road and form the area’s best-known image.
The fabric around the boulevard is low-rise and largely single-family; sub-neighborhoods such as Shenandoah and Coral Gate carry their own parks and street layouts. The tree tunnel separates the area markedly from Miami’s open, sun-exposed street fabric.
Location is its basic feature: between Brickell and Coral Gables, a short distance from both. That makes it one of a limited set of options in Miami for a buyer who wants to stay near the city center but is looking for a house with a garden.
Worth knowing
Coral Way is a main artery and traffic is constant on parcels facing the boulevard; the tree tunnel softens the view but does not cut the noise. Part of the building stock is also old — building age, plumbing and roof condition should be asked about separately here.
